Need a quick dinner tonight? This Italian Ground Beef Stroganoff recipe is SUPER easy and can be on the table in less than 30 minutes. There are many days that I truly appreciate recipes like that! However, don’t think that because it’s quick and easy that you will sacrifice any flavor at all… the Italian seasoning packet adds a lovely punch of flavor.
I’m always looking for new ways to use ground beef. Let’s face it, it’s easy to cook with and can feed a hungry family fast because it cooks up on the stovetop within minutes. This ground beef and noodle recipe is creamy, comforting and so flavorful but uses all kinds of shortcuts so you only need five ingredients! It’s great served over noodles, rice, creamy mashed potatoes, or even baked potatoes. I also love it with peas!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet dry Italian dressing mix (or use 2 Tbsp of this homemade Italian dressing mix!)
- 1 cup water
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (can use cream of chicken)
- 1 cup sour cream
Instructions:
- Crumble the ground beef in to a large skillet and sprinkle with the dry dressing mix. Cook on high until browned and cooked through.
- In a bowl, whisk together the water and cream of mushroom soup.
- Add the soup mixture in to the skillet, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium and simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the sour cream, let it come to a simmer again, then serve!
- Serve over egg noodles, mashed potatoes or rice. (I love mine tossed with egg noodles and peas!)
