Have you ever cooked bacon in the oven? Cooking bacon in the oven is my FAVORITE way to cook it because I don’t have to keep watching it and flipping it as it cooks, each piece cooks way more evenly, and I don’t end up with the big mess that I do when cooking bacon on the stove! (I also love that I can cook an entire pack of bacon at once!)
When you are cooking breakfast for your family it’s so handy to be able to throw the bacon in the oven while you cook pancakes, French toast or eggs on your stove top or griddle! It literally makes making a big breakfast easier and less stressful. The bacon comes out perfectly crispy and clean up is a breeze. If you have never tried cooking bacon this way, I highly recommend giving it a go – I’m confident it will be your favorite way to cook it too!
Wondering what you can use oven cooked bacon for other than breakfast? Leftover bacon can be chopped and stored in the refrigerator in a plastic baggie to use for soups, salads, quiches, or even to use as a garnish for roasted vegetables! (Check out my recipe for Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts garnished with crispy bacon!) Honestly, it’s a rare occasion when we have leftover bacon, but if we do, it never goes to waste!
Ingredients:
- 16oz package of bacon (I like the thick cut)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a large baking pan with parchment paper. (I like to line with foil THEN parchment to ensure easy clean up.)
- Place the strips of bacon on the parchment paper, leaving just a little space between each piece.
- Cook the bacon for 15-20 minutes, depending on how thick it is and how crispy you like it.
- Remove the tray from the oven and use tongs to place the bacon on paper towel lined plates to cool. (The bacon will continue to crisp as it cools.)

That’s the same way I cook my bacon!it’s the best ,,I also take my foil and have it folded up on the side of my pan ,,makes it easy to drain the grease and keeps my pan clean ,just wad up the foil after the grease has been drained and throw away ,,no mess clean pan
Yes – love it! 🙂
