Whatever holiday you are celebrating, these easy chocolate dipped pretzels make a fun gift or addition to the dessert table. Just pick your favorite sprinkles!
Festive sprinkles for whatever occasion you are celebrating
Instructions
Line a couple of baking sheets with wax or parchment paper. You can also put the paper directly on the counter if you aren't going to need to move it till they are set!
Melt the chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave on high for one minute. Stir and if necessary, microwave at additional 20-30 second intervals until melted and smooth
Dip the pretzels in to the melted chocolate and place on your prepared wax or parchment paper. Sprinkle the chocolate dipped part of the pretzel immediately with festive sprinkles so they will set on the chocolate as it dries
Let the treats cool completely before boxing or bagging up!
Notes
A couple of tips for this recipe:
I usually like to use semi-sweet chocolate chips for this treat because they are the perfect match with the salty pretzels, but you could also substitute milk, dark, or white chocolate!
Choose festive sprinkles for whatever the occasion. There are SO many options at Walmart, Amazon, or Michael's.
You can use wax paper or parchment paper to lay the pretzels on to dry. I use wax because it's so cheap and the pretzels peel so easily off of it!
I like to dip the pretzels leaving one of the top corners bare for contrast! This means you can dip with your fingers. If you want to completely cover the pretzels, use two forks or a chocolate dipping tool.
