Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or 4oz of your favorite chocolate bar or mini chocolate chips)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup dried milk powder
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  • Pulse the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a food processor until chopped in to fine pieces. (Alternatively you can grate 4oz of your favorite chocolate bar or just add whole mini chocolate chips.)
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, dried milk powder and cornstarch,
  • Whisk in the chocolate chip pieces or grated chocolate.
  • Store in a large mason jar with a lid.
  • To make hot cocoa, use 2 heaped tablespoons of mix for every cup of hot liquid!

Notes

A couple of tips for this recipe:
  • You can use hot milk or hot water to make this cocoa.  Milk gives you a much creamier hot chocolate and is definitely my preference.
  • Use 2 heaped tablespoons of mix for every cup of hot liquid.
  • You can use your favorite plain chocolate bar in place of chocolate chips – just grate the chocolate finely.  You could also just add mini chocolate chips!
  • You can add spices to your hot cocoa mix – pumpkin spice is a great addition!
  • You can add your favorite creamer to give it another punch of flavor.
