In a skillet pan, brown the ground beef over medium high heat with the olive oil, sesame oil, minced garlic and shredded onion.
Once browned, remove any excess fat from the pan.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, hoisin, rice vinegar, sriracha, ground ginger, red pepper flakes and black pepper.
Pour the mixture over the browned beef and let cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring every minute or so.
Increase the heat to high and continue to cook until the meat get a little crispy, using a spatula to flip it over every now and then to make sure it doesn’t burn. (I do another 5 minutes because I like the crispy texture, but you do you.)
Serve over rice garnished simply with scallions or with all your families favorite toppings!
